I had the pleasure of photographing my first birth last week.  Let me just tell you, it was one of the MOST AMAZING things to see.  Being a mom and giving birth to my little girl, words can not describe it.  It was a different experience not being the one there and being able to watch and capture this little ones first breath of fresh air.  New life coming into this world is the most amazing thing ever.  Babies are born every minute and to be able to capture this once in a lifetime moment for the family was very special.  Ok I’ll stop rambling…

he wasn’t born on January 1st, or January 11th, but he was born at 11:11am.  LOL.

if you look closely you can see that the Mom is the one actually cutting the cord.

this is what they call a “true knot” the cord was wrapped around the little guys head, and there was a knot in the cord as well, they say when this happens there’s an angel watching over them.

  • Katelyn Lawrence - I saw this on Facebook and I was like, “Hey. I think that’s me.”
    It’s definitely me 🙂

I have had the honor of photographing this family two times before, it has been great seeing them grow.  From the first time there were only two kids, to three the next and now four.  I feel honored to be apart of these great memories of my clients.  Baby C was just born almost a Thanksgiving baby.  He is such a cutie and it was great seeing his older sister and brothers playing with him and loving on him.

I love the first picture, the way he was laying he had 4 fingers up, showing he’s the 4th child.

K is graduating from Sycamore High School. She REALLY wanted pictures on her cousin’s farm, she’s definitely a country girl, which I LOVE! So I got to spend the time getting sheep and cows in some shots, oh and jumping over cow pies. It was FREEZING cold outside and of course windy. But it didn’t stop up from having fun using different things around the farm.  I love that she made her shoot more personal too her and wanted the pictures take on the farm as well as incorporating her school clubs in, FFA (Future Farmers of America) as well as her letterman jacket from Track & Field. I know I say it a lot, but it makes the shoot more about who YOU have become. Ok enough talking…

M is very active in Hampshire High Schools sports department as well as Music department. He is attending Millikin University next year majoring in Music. He was a good sport during his session. I think he got really into it at the end when we went to the park near his house and he was able to kick around the soccer ball and kind of ignore that I was there taking pictures of him. It was hard to get a serious look out of him and he was a very happy smiley person 🙂
