N is a 2013 Senior at Genoa High School. She was wonderful to work with. She was a natural in front of the camera. She styled her outfits herself, they looked great! She was a great sport when I tried some new poses out. We ended the session in the little creek at the forest preserve we went to, I think that was her favorite part!

I photographed another 2013 Senior.  I’m having a lot of fun with all these seniors. It’s fun photographing older kids, a nice little break from the little ones 🙂  I like seeing all these seniors get into their shoots and include their hobbies or sports they have played during school. I think it makes the shoot more special and meaningful for them, plus I think they like it because I tell them they can just kick around the soccer ball during the shoot and not have to worry about me taking pictures. This senior particularly plays soccer for his high school and I could tell once I got him out on the soccer field he had a lot more fun and forgot that I was there taking pictures of him. He probably thought I was crazy, I would tell him something dumb to have him laugh-like “hey look at the deer behind me” and he gave me the look of “riiiight lady” and then he laughed at me. I don’t mind looking like a dork if it’s going to get a real smile out of them 🙂

I was a little nervous about this shoot, mom called me and told me she had just had her 4th little guy and wanted some newborn pictures. Her husband had just been deployed overseas and missed the birth by a week, she wanted to get these to be able to send over to her husband. She told me that she had 4 boys under the age of 4, I was a little scared that the newborn would be crying the whole time and when he wasn’t that a big brother would want to be playing or running off or just not wanting to do pictures. These boys did AWESOME. We did have one that didn’t really want to have anything to do with me or smiley, he just wanted gummy snacks (as you can see in the first image, we tried to bribe him, but he knew what we were doing). It took him a while to warm up, and some tickles from mom, but we got some cute smiles out of him. And the littlest guy cried once the whole time I was there.  He was SOOOOO good I wanted to take him home! Mom was so great during the session, she was so relaxed and calm during it all, she handles herself and her 4 boys amazing, seriously look up to her! I don’t know how she does it!  If I had 4 kids and my husband was gone I think I would be living in my pjs and look like a hot mess. She was up for anything and I LOVED that!  She even let the boys jump on the bed with the littlest guy on the bed (mom approved and no one got hurt 🙂 which I LOVE!  It’s one of my favorite images!  Ok, I’ll stop talking now…just look at the awesome little guys and their gorgeous momma!  Oh and the littlest guy had ORANGE hair! It was to die for!

storyboard0271PINIMAGE This has to be at the top for one of my favorite shoots ever!  I had such a fun time with this senior.  She is a VERY talented dancer. She was such a sport walking around downtown St. Charles in her tutu and pointe shoes.  She also just recently competed in the Miss Illinois pageant and placed as 3rd runner-up, how awesome is that?!  She is such a sweet, kind individual, oh and I forgot to mention GORGEOUS! She definitely was a lot of fun to photograph, she was up for anything and even came up with a few ideas for shots (like the one of her in the street, mother approved of course).

storyboard022PINIMAGE He was great to take pictures of even was a good sport when I was trying some new poses.  He warmed up towards the end and starting posing himself, which to me is great, means that he was having fun, or it was the fact that we were at the baseball field, but I think it’s the first thing 🙂
